News   Former NYS Sen. Malcolm Smith convicted in corruption trial   A federal jury in White Plains has convicted former Queens State Sen. Malcolm Smith and his co-defendant in the 'Corridor of Corruption' trial. Smith was convicted of trying to bribe his way onto the Republican ticket for New York City mayor. Also convicted was former Queens GOP leader Vincent Tabone. Smith will be sentenced in July.
