News   Former Suffolk police chief in FBI custody   Former Suffolk Police Chief James Burke has been arrested at his home and is in FBI custody in Melville. Burke has been under federal investigation after allegedly assaulting a Smithtown man who was arrested for stealing Burke's bag from his police SUV.
