News   Crews battle West Hempstead building fire   Officials are on the scene of a large commercial fire in West Hempstead. The fire broke out at 104 Hempstead Turnpike around 10:45 a.m. Motorists are being advised that Hempstead Turnpike is closed in both directions between Marlborough and Westminster roads due to the building fire.
