[WFPI] Superior Refinery Fire

This morning around 10:06 an explosion and fire was reported at the Husky Refinery in Superior, Wisconsin. Several Injuries were reported. The fire was thought to be contained and under control.

At about 12:30 PM the fire reignited with another explosion from asphalt tanks. The fire is currently being allowed to bur. Because of the intense heat and smoke, and risk of other explosions.  it is currently unsafe for firefighters to begin any attack on it. Superior Fire Department is in command with assistance from Duluth, Cloquet, the Husky Refinery Emergency Response Team, Gold Cross Ambulance and other local resources. The Wisconsin State Patrol also has several Troopers on scene for traffic control.  

Currently there is an evacuation notice in effect for the City of Superior 10 miles south of the refinery, or within 3 miles to the south, east. or west.The plume of smoke can be seen for several miles.
