Today LT. Rick Trecartin was promoted to the rank of Captain in the Fredericton Fire Department. Captain Trecartin comes from a long line of Firefighters who have protected the City even before amalgamation. He is the son of Firefighter Gerry Trecartin of the FFD, and the grandson of Nashwaaksis Deputy Fire Chief George Melvin. Our Firefighters and Officers responded to Kings College to fight a structure fire this afternoon. Despite cold conditions, and a stubborn fire, the structure was saved.
