FLOODING LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. MINOR TO MODERATE
RIVER FLOODING IS LIKELY TONIGHT AND THURSDAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF
THE RARITAN AND PASSAIC BASINS OF NORTH CENTRAL NEW JERSEY AND
THE SCHUYLKILL BASIN IN PENNSYLVANIA. ROAD CLOSURES ARE POSSIBLE
LATE TODAY INTO THURSDAY IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS AND NEAR FLOODED
STREAMS, ESPECIALLY IN THE PROXIMITY OF THE INTERSTATE 78 CORRIDOR.
* THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES ARE MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE SMALL
STREAM FLOODING OR A PERIOD OF EXTENSIVE POOR DRAINAGE STREET
FLOODING. IN PENNSYLVANIA, BERKS, LEHIGH, NORTHAMPTON, BUCKS,
MONTGOMERY, PHILADELPHIA, CHESTER, DELAWARE AND ADJACENT
NORTHERN NEW CASTLE COUNTY IN NORTHERN DELAWARE. THEN FOR NEW
JERSEY...MERCER, HUNTERDON, SOMERSET, MIDDLESEX, MORRIS
* THE EXTENT OF THE FLOODING WILL DEPEND ON THE TOTAL RAINFALL.
MOST, IF NOT ALL OF THE SNOW WILL BE MELTED BY THURSDAY MORNING.
THAN SNOW MELT RUNOFF OF 1 TO 2 INCHES COMBINED WITH THREE
QUARTERS OF AN INCH TO 1.5 INCHES OF RAINFALL WILL BE ENOUGH TO
CAUSE A FAIRLY EXTENSIVE REGION OF FLOODING CREEKS... STREAMS
AND SMALLER RIVERS. THE RESULTS OF THE RUNOFF SHOULD BE
APPROACHING CREST THURSDAY, THOUGH ONE OR TWO OF THE LARGER AND
SLOWER TO RESPOND RIVERS MAY REMAIN IN FLOOD INTO FRIDAY.
